Care Farm Supervisor

Katie loves growing things, and started growing flowers and vegetables when she was a young girl. When her children were little, they spent lots of time with her in their garden and at local PYO farms. Later, Katie worked at a local farm market, then at Red Wiggler Community Farm. Now she is sharing what she learned over those years with a great team of adults with developmental disabilities in the Xceptional Opportunities garden. The group works on making compost, preparing garden beds, and planting, tending, harvesting, and preparing herbs and vegetables for the team to enjoy. They make sure to take time to use all their senses to appreciate the beauty in and around the garden.

When not at XO, Katie loves spending time with her grandchildren, traveling adventures, knitting, reading, and walking in the woods.
